He directs the Groupe de recherche architecturale en systèmes constructifs industrialisés (GRASCI), which focuses on industrialized building systems. Richard Tomasetti is a Founding Principal of Thornton Tomasetti, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and Adjunct Professor at Columbia University. He was the 2012 recipient of the CTBUH Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal, and has contributed to the engineering of some of the world’s tallest structures, including Plaza 66 in Shanghai and Taipei 101.
