Introduction

Michael Hann

Professor Michael Hann (BA, M.Phil, PhD, FRSA, FTI) holds the Chair of Design Theory at the University of Leeds. He is also Director of the University of Leeds International Textiles Archive (ULITA). He has published across a number of subject areas, has made numerous key-note addresses at international conferences, and is an acknowledged international expert on the geometry of design. Jennifer Rhee is an Assistant Professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she researches and teaches contemporary American literature and culture, literature and science, and media studies. She is currently completing a book manuscript on the interrelation of literature, art, robotics technologies, and militarization. She has also started working on her next book project on counter-surveillance literature and art.
