Defne Sunguroğlu Hensel

Defne Sunguroğlu Hensel [MSc EmTech AA Dipl RIBA II] is an architect, interior architect, and researcher. Currently she serves as a board member in the OCEAN Design Research Association. She studied architecture Part I at Kent University and completed her degree at the Architectural Association, where she also gained her MSc in the Emergent Technologies and Design Programme. Currently, she is working on her PhD entitled Multiple Performance Integration Models Based on Wood and Clay Based Systems as a stipend-funded PhD research fellow at AHO Oslo School of Architecture and Design. She received the Buro Happold studentship (2006) to pursue her research into Complex Brick Assemblies; the Holloway Trust Award (2006) for a significant contribution to the construction industry; a stipend by BDA – the Brick Development Association (2007); the Anthony Pott Memorial Award (2007) for detailed analysis and research of Eladio Dieste's work; as well as the CERAM Industrial Category Award (2007). She held innovation fellowships, and lectured, taught and exhibited internationally and her work has been published widely. Most recently she co-edited: Ertas H., Hensel M. and Sunguroğlu Hensel D. Mehran Gharleghi

Mehran Gharleghi is an architect and director of Studio Integrate together with Amin Sadeghy. He received his BA Degree from Tehran University of Science and Technology and his Master of Architecture from the Emergent Technologies and Design programme at the Architectural Association. His dissertation won international awards such as ‘AA Fab Research Cluster Symposium 2009’ and ‘International prize for sustainable Architecture-2010’. He collaborated with the most prominent architect in Iran, Hadi Mirmiran, and worked for Plasma Studio and Foster and Partners in London. He has won several competitions and design awards. He lectured at The House of Architecture in Graz in 2011, Smart Geometry09, AA Fab Research Cluster Symposium and ACADIA 2009. Mehran Gharleghi has been interviewed in the book entitled Conversation With the Young Architect by Dr Nasrine Faghih in which he discusses the current role of the young architect. Amin Sadeghy

Amin Sadeghy is an architect and director of studio integrate together with Mehran Gharleghi. He received his BA Degree from Tehran University of Science and Technology and his Master of Architecture from the Emergent Technologies and Design programme at the Architectural Association. He has been collaborating with prominent architects in Iran since 2000 and currently works for Fosters and Partners in London. He has won several design awards, such as International honourable mention for sustainable design. His Dissertation in Emtech in collaboration with Mehran Gharleghi won two international awards, ‘AA Fab Research Cluster Symposium 2009’ and ‘International Prize for Sustainable Architecture’. He lectured at The House of Architecture in Graz in 2011, AA Fab Research Cluster Symposium 2009 and his work was presented in Acadia 2009 and Smart Geometry conference 2009.
