Building communication by design: mobile fiction and the city

Andrew Morrison

Andrew Morrison is Professor of Interdisciplinary Design and coordinates design research at the Institute of Design, Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO). He has published in new media, applied discourse studies and various fields of interaction and communication design. His recent books include Inside Multimodal Composition and Exploring Digital Design (2011, Hampton Press). Andrew leads the YOUrban research project and NarraHand. He is course leader of the PhD school at AHO, active in the Nordes Design Research conferences, and formerly head of Communication Design research at InterMedia, University of Oslo. Henry Mainsah

Henry Mainsah is a visiting researcher at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. He has a PhD from the Department of Media and Communication, University of Oslo where he currently lectures on subjects such as media, cultural identity, and globalization. His doctoral thesis focused on the role played by digital online media in the construction of identity among ethnic minority youth. His research interests include cultural studies, migration studies, media studies, visual culture, and design ethnography. Author affiliation details are correct at time of print publication.
