Pavel Hladik is an architect and researcher. In his professional career he specialized in stadium design in the international design and consultancy firm AECOM (Global Sports). He worked on stadium concepts and on-site projects in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America. Among current on-site projects is Singapore National Stadium, where his focus was mainly on the large-span shell roof structure. He also worked on the Aquatics Centre for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Pavel Hladik is a member and board member of the OCEAN Design Research Association. His research focuses on complex systems and advanced computing methods in architectural design, with an interest in close collaboration with teams across building design disciplines. He has participated in projects where fast data communication was established, especially with lighting, environmental and structural designers.
